As promised in my last post, I'm going to show you how to use eBay's Advanced Search tool to create your very own
Wii tracker to find and
buy Wii online.
If you didn't register to get your own eBay account yesterday,
click here to get your eBay account now because you can't put this tool to use for you or shop at eBay if you don't have an account.
Now that you've registered your account, let's get it started. Go to eBay's home page -
eBay.com - and sign into your account.
From the search bar (at the top of the page) click on the
Advanced Search link. From the Search: Find Items page, click search title and description and save this search to My eBay.
- In the first block enter the keyword of the item your searching for and select the category. Since we're looking for a Nintendo Wii console or bundle, that's what we'll enter as our keyword(s). Video Games is our category and select All of these words;
- Next, under Exclude these words, enter the terms you want excluded from the results. So enter words like "-PS3", "-Playstation 2", "-Xbox 360", "-mystery auction";
- Since we are searching for a very popular item, leave the Items Priced section blank. Select From any sellers (under From Sellers), Items located in your country (under Location) and your preferred currency (under Currency); and
- Under Show only, select All under Buying options, Items listed with PayPal and Listings Ending within your desired amount of time (I would choose within 4 days); and
- Finally, from the Sort by, View results and Results per page drop down menus, choose your settings and click "Search". When you get your results, click on the Save this search link and pick the period of time you want eBay to send you emails about updates/additions to this search.
That's it - we're done. eBay will now send you daily updates to the search results for Nintendo Wii consoles and bundles by email for as long as you have it saved to your My eBay.
