Why Its Been So Hard For You to Buy a Wii and Why It May Become Easier Soon
I just finished reading an article that reveals why its been so hard for you to buy a Wii. According to Wedbush Morgan analyst Micheal Pacter, the real culprit is the weak U.S. greenback. Apparently, products sold in the U.S. when the dollar is weak, don't generate as much profit for a company (after converting dollars back to their countries currency) versus sales of the same product in countries where the currency and demand is stronger. Our weak dollar "forced" Nintendo to allocate more Wii inventory to Europe where it's more profitable for the company to sell them. But the upside is that European demand appears to slowing down to normal levels and those excess Wii consoles should now be heading to the good old U.S. of A - meaning that it may be a lot easier for you to buy that Wii console or bundle you've been lusting at. Which will be great for those of you who haven't been able to get your hands on a Wii yet.
